1 Open Official downloads and choose Nextcloud Files for macOS. Check the requirements and the variant for your macOS version. 2 Download and open the official installer from Downloads. For a package, follow the wizard; for a disk image, follow its instruction to install in Applications. 3 Open Nextcloud from Applications. Allow only permissions needed for the features you use; ask support about unexpected security warnings. 4 Choose to log in to your Nextcloud and enter the full cloud address. Do not create an account with another provider. 5 In the browser, sign in, complete your second factor and grant access to the client. Return to Nextcloud. 6 Review file options and the proposed location. Some variants use macOS File Provider for virtual files; the location may differ from the traditional client. 7 If prompted to enable a Finder extension or file provider, check its name and follow approved instructions. Do not change general system permissions on your own. 8 Open Finder and look for Nextcloud in the configured location or under Locations. Wait for initial synchronization. 9 Open a test file and check on the web that your changes arrived. To work offline, choose to keep it downloaded if offered and test without a connection. When finished, check Your test file appears on both the web and your computer.
If it does not work If Nextcloud is missing in Finder, first check that the app is running and the account is connected. Paths and options depend on the installed client.Official reference ↗ See account connection and synchronization modes →
