1 In Official downloads, find Nextcloud Files → Linux AppImage. Check current requirements and your computer’s architecture. 2 Save the file in a permanent user folder, such as Applications. Do not leave it in a temporary folder or delete it after launching. 3 In the file manager, right-click the AppImage → Properties → Permissions. Enable Allow executing as program if available. 4 Double-click the AppImage. If execution is blocked or dependencies are missing, keep the message and contact support; you do not need to install a Nextcloud server. 5 When the client opens, choose to sign in and enter the complete cloud address. 6 Authorize access in your browser with your account, second factor and Grant access. Return to the client. 7 Select a dedicated local folder and the remote folders you need. Check free disk space before downloading the entire account. 8 Connect and check sync status. If authorization is requested again after restarting, support can check your desktop’s password manager. 9 If Launch at system startup appears in General settings, enable it according to company policy. Sign out and back in to check it launches. 10 Create a test folder and check it on the web. Virtual-file availability depends on the distribution and build; do not assume it is enabled. When finished, check Your test file appears on both the web and your computer.
If it does not work Distribution packages may offer different options from the official AppImage. Avoid mixing installations or enabling experimental features without validation.Official reference ↗ See account connection and synchronization modes →
