Step by step

Click each step to mark your progress during this visit.

1. 1Note the original file name and folder. Sorting by date helps distinguish similar documents.
2. 2In Files, open Deleted files in the sidebar.
3. 3Find the file by name and date.
4. 4Do not empty the trash during recovery. For shared-folder files, also check with the owner.
5. 5Choose Restore, then check its location in Files.
6. 6If it is missing, contact support with its name, folder and approximate deletion date.
7. 7Open the restored document and inspect it. If its previous folder no longer exists, also look in the Files root.
